As a cataract and refractive surgeon, Dr. Kevin Scripture provides medical and surgical treatment for cataracts and the correction of refractive disorders, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. He offers patients the newest technology including “Quick Vision” no-stitch, no-shot cataract surgery.
Education and Training
Dr. Scripture was born and raised in Connersville and enjoys practicing in his hometown area. Dr. Scripture graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. After completing medical school, Dr. Scripture served an internship in preliminary medicine at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Scripture served his residency in ophthalmology at the Indiana University Medical Center.
Since Dr. Scripture began his practice in Richmond and Connersville in 1998, he has performed tens of thousands of cataract cases. Over those years, Dr. Scripture has expanded his surgical expertise including today’s options for refractive cataract surgery procedures, which offer opportunities for our patients to limit their dependence on glasses. Dr. Scripture is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.

- Multifocal lens implantation for those with bifocal or reading glasses to correct vision at both near and far distances.
- Toric lens implantation for cataract surgery patients with astigmatism.
Dr. Scripture sees patients at the Whitewater Eye Center Richmond, Whitewater Eye Center Connersville, Whitewater Eye Center Greenville and Whitewater Eye Center Batesville.
While most of Dr. Scripture’s surgeries are performed at Whitewater Surgery Center, our state of the art surgery center in Richmond. Dr. Scripture does offer surgery for our patients at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, OH and Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, IN.
Dr. Scripture‘s practice is a family affair. His nephew, Eric Scripture MD, recently joined Whitewater Eye Centers as an ophthalmologist. His daughter, Molly Scripture MD, is a resident in Ophthalmology at Indiana University in Indianapolis. Dr. Scripture’s son, Andy Scripture DC, is finishing his chiropractic training in St. Louis and will be providing chiropractic care in our local community soon.
When away from Whitewater Eye Centers, Dr. Scripture proudly works as cheap labor for his wife Natalie, who runs Natalie Next Door, a local home restoration firm.
